Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dependable and experienced Overnight General Maintenance Engineer to support ongoing maintenance and repair needs at a premier hospitality location in Del Mar, CA. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks including basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general facility upkeep during overnight hours.

You will help ensure that guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas are operating efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the property’s appearance and functionality for guests and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair duties across guest rooms, meeting areas, and back-of-house spaces

• Conduct entry-level preventative maintenance and safety checks in accordance with maintenance schedules

• Address minor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and lighting issues as needed

• Operate and maintain hand tools and equipment safely and effectively

• Respond to guest maintenance requests in a timely and courteous manner

• Ensure work orders are completed and documented accurately

• Inspect and test systems and equipment regularly, reporting issues proactively

• Work independently on overnight shifts while coordinating with security or night operations staff

• Ensure all maintenance and engineering areas are clean and organized

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of building or facility maintenance experience required; hospitality/hotel experience is a plus

• Ability to diagnose and perform basic repairs across multiple trades (plumbing, electrical, mechanical)

• Must be able to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Physically able to lift, push, pull, and carry moderate loads and work on your feet for extended periods

• Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious

• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.

• Valid driver's license preferred

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with basic building systems such as HVAC, elevators, and fire suppression systems

• Experience in a hotel, resort, or similar hospitality setting

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight hours
