We are looking specifically for a landscaper skilled in fixing existing irrigation for an orchard. We are also looking for a handyman we can use for miscellaneous work at our properties in Santee, Otay Mesa, and Ramona.

The Handyman & Irrigation Technician is a versatile professional responsible for performing a range of maintenance, repair, and installation tasks for various building systems and landscape irrigation systems. This role requires a broad set of technical skills, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and irrigation troubleshooting, ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of residential and commercial properties

• General Maintenance & Repair:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on general property structures and systems. 
     
  • Address issues with plumbing (leaks, fixtures), electrical systems (lighting, wiring), and general carpentry. 
     
  • Assemble and install various fixtures and equipment. 
     
• Irrigation System Management:

  • Install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial irrigation systems. 
     
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with sprinkler heads, controllers, valves, and water pumps. 
     
  • Perform routine checks for leaks, adjust components, and clean sprinkler heads. 
     
  • Install pipes, tubing, and other related components, including backflow preventers. 
     
• System Operation & Troubleshooting:

  • Operate tools and equipment, such as trenchers, drills, and various hand and power tools. 
     
  • Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic problems within irrigation systems. 
     
  • Set timers and program smart irrigation systems based on landscape and environmental factors. 

  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines. 
       
    • Adhere to proper procedures for using tools, equipment, and heavy machinery. 
       
    • Properly mark underground utilities before performing any excavation. 

    Required Skills & Qualifications: 

     

    • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
    • Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and components.
    • Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools.
    • Experience operating heavy equipment such as trenchers and backhoes.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
    • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform strenuous physical tasks.
    • Ability to recognize when a repair is beyond their skill set and recommend professional help.
